HAVE YOU BECOME BLIND TO UNWANTED THINGS IN YOUR LIFE?

In The Times today, Matthew Parris comments on how Britain is covered in phone boxes that "are an eyesore - barely used, routinely out of order, mostly filthy". He is calling for them "to be scrapped, as they are ugly, unhygienic and pointless".

Good point.

So when was the last time you even noticed a phone box?! All to often, things that have become a constant feature of our world become invisible to us, through familiarity.

Why not look at your environment with a fresh eye, a new perspective? Don't just walk past things that are always there ; look at them critically. They could be in your house, your garden, your wardrobe, your briefcase/handbag..........

See something as if for the first time. When did you last use it or enjoy it? Is it still useful? Is it tired, worn out, dated? What other value might it have?

I've just spotted a basket in the corner of our dining room, that's full of magazines and brochures - not looked in there for a while...............must sort it out!
